Question

How to create cluster with tarball setup

Hi,

How do we put 2 tarball data collector engines in a cluster? Is ‘Enable Failover’ checkbox in job settings the only option?

@rutuja_pradhan

Create two deployments, with different port numbers. Run the scripts from both deployments on the same cluster. It should work.

Enable failover is something completely different.

Hi @saleempothiwala ,

Thank you for your response.

Could you please clarify how do we create this cluster?
We have 2 tarball DC engines on 2 separate VMs and we trying to get them in cluster.
Since 'Enable Failover' in jobs ensure the job runs on 2nd engine if 1st engine fails, does that mean these 2 engines behave as in a cluster?

@rutuja_pradhan

Ah, you already have two separate VMs then the enable failover option will behave as you have mentioned. Make sure that both the data collectors have same label that is used in the job configuration.
