Overview:

  • This document provides instructions on how to integrate SCH subscription with ServiceNow.

Use-case:

  • If a job goes to ACTIVE RED state then an incident should be created in a ServiceNow.

Configuration:

      1. In the SCH Navigation panel, click Subscriptions

      2. Click the Add icon: + and fill all the details in Subscriptions as below way:

Step One: Define Trigger Event
Step Two: Define Action

      3. Click on Save.

      4. And enable the subscription.

      5. Once the Event is generated, the Incident will be created in ServiceNow.

Additional Information/Known Issues:

1. SNow with https: If https is enabled, import the SNow public certificate into SCH truststore else you will face below error:

Failed to trigger webhook action for event XXXXX of event type: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target due to: {}

 2. SCH < 3.15: In < SCH 3.15 version below error is seen in UI when an event is triggered, but still an incident is created in the SNow. This error message fixed SCH 3.15.

Failed to trigger webhook action for event XXXXX of event type: Issues: [NOTIFICATION_06 - Webhook request to URL https://XXXXX.service-now.com/api/now/table/incident was not successful and returned 201 response code] due to: {}
