StreamSets Support Team would like to inform you that we discovered an issue where StreamSets Data Collector multithreaded pipelines using Credential Stores to store secrets in selective stages can fail with IllegalStateException and an error message of "Not in UserGroupScope scope".

Description: Any StreamSets Data Collector multithreaded pipeline using Credential Stores to store secrets in selective stages can fail with IllegalStateException and an error message of "Not in UserGroupScope scope".

  • ElasticSearch Destination
  • Amazon S3 Origin, Destination, Executor
  • Start Job Processor
  • MQTT Destination
  • Websocket Destination
  • SDC RPC Origin
  • Websocket Origin
  • Hive Metadata Processor
  • Hive Metastore Destination
  • Avro Data Format - Any Destination/Processor

 

Immediate action required:  No
 
Workaround: Using Runtime Resources to store secrets until a fix is available.


Fix: A fix for this issue will be available in our next patch release, SDC 3.19.1, which is scheduled for the upcoming week barring any unforeseen issues.

 

Resolution: Postpone upgrading StreamSets Data Collector to version 3.19.0. If you already upgraded your Data Collector instance to version 3.19.0 and you are experiencing this issue, please follow the workaround for now and upgrade your Data Collector instances to SDC 3.19.1 when available.
