StreamSets Support team would like to inform you that we found an issue related to acknowledging job errors after the latest update to the StreamSets Control Hub Cloud service on Friday, June 25, 2021.
Products Affected: StreamSets Control Hub Cloud, StreamSets Data Collector, and StreamSets Transformer
Severity: Medium/High
Description: When a job is in INACTIVE_ERROR state, there is a failure to transition the job to INACTIVE in some cases. This issue will prevent job errors from being acknowledged, which will block them from resuming normal operations.
In StreamSets Data Collector, the error happens in a specific scenario where the job has failover disabled, and the underlying job pipeline is in one of the non-error states. In StreamSets Transformer, the issue will occur even when the job has failover enabled.
Immediate action required: No.
NOTE: StreamSets Support is aware of all customers who have been affected by this issue and will be proactively reaching out to provide guidance on working around the current impact.
Workaround:
For StreamSets Data Collector:
- Enable the failover for the job which is facing the issue and then acknowledge the error.
- Duplicate the job in the issue and start the job.
For StreamSets Transformer:
- Duplicate the job in the issue and start the job.
Fix: We have identified the root cause of this issue and are preparing a fix that we plan to release no later than the end of this week.
