Problem:
Cannot view logs in the Data Collector UI when using with Cloudera Manager as user with proper permissions
Solution:
This is a limitation of the CM integration in version 2.4 of SDC. In 2.4, Data Collector logs are available in CM but not the SDC UI.
As of Data Collector version 2.5 you will be able to see Data Collector logs in the SDC UI but not Cloudera Manager. There is a limitation in CM where we can display logs in either SDC UI or Cloudera Manager but not both. The decision was made for version 2.5 that the logs should be displayed in SDC UI to take advantage of pipeline filtering, etc.
If you would like to view the logs in the SDC UI the only option right now with Cloudera Manager is to upgrade to 2.5.
