Configuration of Postman to Use StreamSets APIs

I am attempting to use Postman to query the runtime history of all jobs so that I can provide a list of the X slowest running jobs. I have been unable to configure Postman correct for this GET call, and would like to know from the hivemind what I am doing wrong here. Trying to use this API endpoint: https://{Control_Hub_URL}.streamsets.com/jobrunner/rest/v1/job/{jobId}/history Auth is set to “No auth” based upon another forum post I read that stated we should include the ID and key for the API credentials used in the header, though I have tried it with API Key and providing the credentials there, as well. I have read through the 14 questions and 4 conversations that return when searching here for “Postman” and tried a few of the proffered solutions but without success. I have no parameters and the headers are where I have been trying to define API credentials. Note these credentials are used by automation in the Control Hub so they are valid. I think my issue lies in what header names

Assigning value to runtime parameter in pipeline start event as jdbc query

I am using Data collector 5.8.1 . I am selected JDBC in my pipeline start event I am using this query in my start event: DECLARE @XYZWorkFlowID INT = (SELECT TOP 1 WorkFlowID FROM dbo.RefWorkFlow WHERE WorkFlowName = 'XYZ') INSERT INTO JobTracker(JobName,WorkFlowID,Campaign,LastExecutedTime,JobStatus)VALUES ('XYZ_ABC_Export',@XYZWorkFlowID ,'Dialer',GETDATE(),'InProgress') I need to get the identity value generated by JobTracker table and assign it to a ‘JobTrackerId’ pipeline parameter. I need to use the same parameter in the stop event jdbc to update JobTracker the table. I tried adding: ${JobTrackerId} = SELECT @@Identity I'm pretty sure this is the wrong approach. Can anyone guide me through the right one?

Using expression language to get the length of a list

Docs and at least one community thread have suggested that the following expression should work in a stream selector conditional: ${record:exists('/ids') && length(record:value('/ids')) > 0} This returns: ELException: No function is mapped to the name "length". The field in question is a list of integers. What am I not understanding? Thanks

Achieving Pagination 

I have resource URL as “https://api.simpleng.com.au/v2/ActionSheets/SummaryForSite/3?data=bma&changesAfter=2024-11-01T00:00:00&pageNumber=1” And response as :{ "page": 1, "ofPages": 3, "content": [ ] } Where I want to get all records in Page 1,2 and 3.Despite using pagination I am not able to get the records from all the pages and get only from 1st page. I am using Pagination with PageNumber and using ${StartAt} variable.Refer below Screenshots

Retreaving more metrics fom Jobs(SDK)

Hello!! Currently, I’m using the SDK to extract metrics from some jobs. However, instead of having only {run_count, input_count, output_count, total_error_count} from sch.job.metrics, I would like to have some other metrics as well, such as counting each record for each step of my job. Is this possible? How can I achieve this? I’m also looking to get the last received record (for each pipeline) that we can see in the real-time summary. How can I get this metric from ControlHub using the SDK?

Can we have multiple columns in JDBC Query Concumer Offset Column ?

While i am working with a table that had no Primary Key and the total number of records were also huge, so i thought of a basic SQL concept that “ To Uniquely Identify a row some times we use Multiple columns “.To use the same in incremental mode in JDBC Query Consumer, I thought of using multiple columns as offset, but i have gone nowhere. Can anybody have any thoughts on this. Thank you.

streamsets error crear pipeline

Hello everybody. I'm doing an exercise on streamsets and when creating a pipeline it throws this error. VALIDATION_0096 - This pipeline was created in version 6.1.0 and is not compatible with current version 6.0.0. How to fix it? I'm using the 30-day trial version of streamsets. Thank you very much.

Issue Connecting to Redis on IBM Cloud Using Certificate Authority

Hello, I am trying to establish a connection from StreamSets to a Redis database on IBM Cloud. This instance requires the use of a Certificate Authority (CA) for authentication and secure communication, but I haven't found a way to properly configure it in StreamSets. I have attempted the following without success: Configuring a Truststore: I created a Truststore and imported the CA certificate using keytool. I updated the StreamSets configuration (sdc.properties), including the https.truststore.path property, to reference the Truststore. Passing parameters in the connection URI: I tried different URI formats, including adding the certificate to the connection string, but the connection still fails. I would appreciate any guidance on the correct way to configure StreamSets to trust the Redis certificate and establish a secure connection.

Validation Error: [ MONGODB_04 - Collection isn't tailable because 'oplog.rs' is not a capped collection. : configBean.mongoConfig.collection ] Other detail/info: > Stage Library: MongoDB Java driver 3.12.0 > I tried with another capped collection 'oplog.test' created in development database other than local. We are in the process of upgrading from StreamSets Data Collector version 5.9.1 to 6.1.0 and StreamSets Transformer version 5.7.0 to 6.0.0. What are the major changes and features in the latest versions, and what has been deprecated? Which version control hub is supported? Data rule : trigger alert when a field (STRING) is not empty

Hi everyone, I would like to trigger an alert when a field “text” is not empty (from Directory stage with Data Format as Text). Nevertheless, even if text is not empty, the alert is not triggered. I don’t understand what is wrong in the data rule. Any idea ? How to Install Elasticsearch 8.x Stage Library in StreamSets 3.22.3?

Is the Elasticsearch 8.x stage library officially supported in StreamSets 3.22.3? If not, is there a workaround or manual method to install and use Elasticsearch 8.x with this version of StreamSets? Should I consider upgrading to a newer version of StreamSets, or is there another solution? I appreciate any guidance or insights from the community. Thank you!

Start and Stop Event Connection via Parameter

Hi, I am currently developing a pipeline with Start and Stop Events using JDBC query. We are trying to make it more dynamic by having the connections parameterized, however, Start and Stop Events configuration won’t allow to use a parameterized connection. Even if I click the “Use parameter” button, it does not work. Can anyone please help me on this?

Read Entire JSON data as wholefile format in ADLS and write to VARIANT Field in Snowflake

I have a use case to read a JSON file from ADLS location and write the entire content of the JSON file to a VARIANT field in Snowflake. I have used ADLS origin stage , Jython Processor and Snowflake Destination Stage. In the ADLS stage, I have the data format as “WholeFile” to get /fileRef. I used the Jython processor to read /FileRef and convert it as String before loading this field to Snowflake. Creating a scheduler via Control Hub API

I want to create a scheduler via the following API request: Creates a new Scheduled Task: PUT {SCH_URL}/scheduler/rest/v2/jobs/{pageId} I have 2 questions: 1) Do I use {pageId} = SchedulerJobListPage or SchedulerJobManagePage, and why? Secondly, I’m passing a request body as per the body suggested on the RESTful API Scheduler page but I’m receiving the error: “ERROR : READ_ONLY_ENFORCER_000 - Page ‘com.streamsets.apps.scheduler.rest.SchedulerJobManagePage’ readOnly values have been modified. 2) Is this error due to the readOnlySignature i have generated or with one of the attributes in the request body?

Cannot configure a StreamSets pipeline with OpenSearch version 2.11 or above

Hello. I want to store data in OpenSearch internally, but I keep getting the following error. ELASTICSEARCH_17 - Could not index '1000' records: POST https://testpate.net/_bulk: HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request {"error":{"root_cause":[{"type":"illegal_argument_exception","reason":"Action/metadata line [1] contains an unknown parameter [_type]"}],"type":"illegal_argument_exception","reason":"Action/metadata line [1] contains an unknown parameter [_type]"},"status":400} I tried configuring the pipeline with the latest version of StreamSets, but I'm still encountering the same issue. I've tested both version 7.9.0 and 8.1.0, and I used _doc for all mapping values. Does this mean I can't use OpenSearch?

Kafka-29 error

Hi, we are getting below error for few of the Kafka consumer Jobs. we fine tuned the Kafka config values like sesson.timeout.ms request.timeout.ms, max poll interval, heart beat value and max poll records. But still we are seeing this issue intermittently. Can you please check below and provide a solution for htis. 'KAFKA_29 - Error fetching data from Kafka: org.apache.kafka.clients.consumer.CommitFailedException: Commit cannot be completed since the group has already rebalanced and assigned the partitions to another member. This means that the time between subsequent calls to poll() was longer than the configured max.poll.interval.ms, which typically implies that the poll loop is spending too much time message processing. You can address this either by increasing max.poll.interval.ms or by reducing the maximum size of batches returned in poll() with max.poll.records.' Thanks, Guru

Hi Team, I have to read JSON file in Amazon S3 bucket. This JSON file has timestamp folder that are ready to read. Using those values, I need to read Objects in Amazon S3 bucket. Connect Engines with HIVE and Watsonx

Hi, I’ve started working with StreamSets recently and I want a Transformer Engine to process data from IBM Cloud Object Storage (COS) and write it to a Hive table managed by Watsonx.data. However, I’m facing challenges connecting StreamSets to the Spark engine in Watsonx.data. Watsonx.data uses an optimized Spark engine, and from what I understand, it behaves as a Standalone Cluster. The issue is that I don’t have access to the Spark Master URL (spark://<master-host>:<port>), which StreamSets requires to connect the Transformer Engine. StreamSets needs a Master URL to send jobs to the Spark cluster. Without this, I haven’t been able to configure the pipeline to process jobs directly in Watsonx.data’s Spark engine.As well I’ve tried with the data collector engine, that I understand that it’s not the best fit but it requires easier connections. It didn’t work neither, I’ll leave logs at the bottom for this situation. Is it possible to connect StreamSets to the Spark engine in Watsonx.dat
